Ladyboy city guide for Thailand and the world
This ladyboy city guide covers the places where trans women live, work and celebrate openly: Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Manila and Ho Chi Minh City. Each entry explains the culture, the famous cabaret shows, how to get around, how to stay safe and how to meet people with respect.
The guide is written for two groups at once. Trans women who travel or move between cities use it to find community, Pride events and trans friendly spaces. Visitors who admire ladyboys use it to understand local customs before they say hello. Members of LadyBoy.net also see venue listings and the event calendar inside the guide, and every meeting through our dating section happens between adults, without payment of any kind. Read our safety guide before you travel.
Bangkok
The capital has the largest and most visible trans community in Thailand. Women work in fashion, beauty, media, offices and their own businesses, and the city hosts Bangkok Pride every June. Calypso Cabaret is the classic show for first time visitors. Our Bangkok guide covers neighbourhoods, transport and the scams to avoid.
Pattaya
Pattaya is the home of the big cabaret theatres and of two famous pageants, Miss Tiffany's Universe and Miss International Queen. Beyond the stage, it is a relaxed seaside city with a long expat history. Read the Pattaya guide for Jomtien, Beach Road and the shows.
Phuket
Phuket mixes beaches with a colourful Old Town and a long tradition of LGBT friendly tourism. Simon Cabaret is the island's best known show, and Phuket Pride brings the community together. See the Phuket guide.
Chiang Mai
The northern city is calmer, greener and popular with students, artists and remote workers. Trans women here are part of the cafe, craft and university scene, and Chiang Mai Pride has grown into a visible yearly march. It is a good choice for anyone who prefers slow mornings to late nights.
Talk about it in the forum
Manila
The Philippines has a large and outspoken trans community, often called transpinay, with a strong presence in beauty pageants, entertainment and online creative work. Manila hosts one of the biggest Pride gatherings in Southeast Asia. English is spoken widely, which makes conversation easy for visitors.
Ho Chi Minh City
Vietnam's busiest city has a lively creative scene and a growing trans community that is increasingly visible in fashion and music. Cabaret and drag nights take place in the city centre, and our page on Vietnamese ladyboys explains the wider cultural background.

Questions people ask
Which city in Thailand is best for meeting trans women respectfully?+
Bangkok has the largest community and the widest range of social spaces, so most people start there. Pattaya and Phuket are smaller and more focused on tourism and shows. Wherever you go, meet in public places and remember that dating on LadyBoy.net never involves payment.
Are the cabaret shows suitable for any visitor?+
Yes. Tiffany's Show, Alcazar, Calypso and Simon Cabaret are stage productions with costumes, music and comedy, and they welcome couples, families and groups. Buy tickets from the official box office or website of each theatre.
Does the guide list bars?+
No. We describe neighbourhoods, culture, Pride and cabaret theatres, and venues that list themselves for events. We do not recommend nightlife spots or anything connected to paid company.
Can venues add their events to the guide?+
Yes. Venues use the Venue plan to get a listing in English and Thai and up to five event calendar entries per month. See the venues page for details.
